Cruciate ligament care with SecuTec Genu Flex
From Bauerfeind Life on 28.03.2024
He caught the ball whilst jumping in the air, landed awkwardly, over-stretching his knee – everything happened very quickly: Simon Liedtke, member of the national baseball league team “Heidenheim Heideköpfe” tore his posterior cruciate ligament during a league match in May 2023. After two months of conservative treatment, he was able to play baseball again. One of his supporters on his return to sports: The brace SecuTec Genu Flex.
This looked like the end of the season for the 23-year-old infielder, who can also play in the position of pitcher. The team physician agreed to conservative treatment of the injury. The ambitious goal was a rapid return-to-sports and return-to-competition in early August. From this point on, Simon Liedtke’s recovery included physical therapy, lymphatic drainage and strength training. He was given the new SecuTec Genu Flex so he would be able to get back to full training.
The flexible frame brace adapts to the changing shapes of the thigh and lower leg during movement. He reports: “The brace was comfortable to wear, and no matter what exercises I did, it remained securely on my leg and didn’t slip. It also gave me a feeling of stability. That allowed me to fully concentrate on my training.”
The strategy worked: Simon Liedtke returned to the field in early August 2023 to start the championship play-offs, where the Heideköpfe won the title. Furthermore, he was able to achieve his second big goal of the year: in mid-August, he went to Vienna with the German under-23 national team to compete in the European championships.
