Getting to the top with Train supports Confident in sand
With his confidence, determination and hard work, the professional Canadian beach volleyball player Sam Pedlow inspires others to realize their full potential. In order to play at the highest level, the athlete and trained physical therapist relies on prevention and regeneration.
It was never really his plan to play beach volleyball professionally. Sam Pedlow may have made his first appearance on the international stage in 2007, but envisaged his future much more with academic education to become a physical therapist, which he completed in 2012 with a master’s degree from the University of Western Ontario. Having actively worked as a physical therapist for a while, he realized that he was able to achieve more with volleyball than he initially thought. “I gave it a chance and just went for it,” Sam Pedlow explains. And successfully so: he has now been competing for his home country for more than ten years and was nominated by his federation to take part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
A personal discovery
During his work treating patients, Sam Pedlow discovered Bauerfeind’s Train supports and – the more he heard feedback about them and saw their treatment success – learned to value them. Not only as a physical therapist but as a competitive athlete, too, Sam is fascinated by the positive effects of Bauerfeind products and knows all about the benefits of stabilization, compression and stimulation. That is why, since 2015, the GenuTrain has always accompanied Sam Pedlow when he steps onto the sand. “The reason I rely on Bauerfeind is the focus on quality and performance. With their products, I can trust that I will play at my best when I have match point at a world championships.”
Since he has professionally played the sport with its high degree of physical strain for years, Sam knows how important it is to prevent injuries and to recover quickly. The GenuTrain and GenuTrain P3 are constant companions for Pedlow, whether during training or competitions, so he can alleviate his numerous knee injuries. In addition to Bauerfeind supports, he also uses Bauerfeind medical compression stockings to help with more efficient regeneration and circulation after training sessions or on long-haul flights. Sam realized: “I can get back to action much more quickly and continue to perform at my best.” ?
Sam Pedlow, professional beach volleyball player from Canada, was born in 1987. At a height of 1.98 meters, he seemed predestined to be a blocker. He is currently training with his team mate Sam Schachter to represent Canada in beach volleyball during the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo.
