Treating pain caused by osteoarthritis of the facet joints

After an average of nine weeks wearing the LumboLoc Forte back brace, patients suffering from osteoarthritis of the spine report having significantly less pain, an improved feeling of stability, and increased mobility in day-to-day life. Those were the evaluations from 47 treatment cases in nine different physicians’ practices in Germany.  The results from this current non-interventional study are available as a digital whitepaper.

Case data from real-life practical treatment
The test subjects suffering from degenerative osteoarthritis of the spine, also known as facet syndrome or facet joint syndrome, assessed the effectiveness of the brace themselves. Treatment was largely conservative, with one patient being treated post-operatively. The evaluation includes their concomitant indications, such as osteochondrosis or prolapse. It also mentions other treatment measures, including pain medication, physiotherapy, or additional provision of orthopedic foot orthoses. The treating physicians documented their treatment objectives in each case and assessed during the follow-up how effectively the LumboLoc Forte contributed to achieving them.

Positive effects, happy patients
The subjective data substantiates pain reduction by an average of 45.1 percent as well as a relative increase in the walking distance perceived as pain-free by 69.3 percent. Patients stated that they felt more stable when walking and taking the stairs, had more confidence when standing, and were generally more mobile. About 83 percent were largely to very satisfied with the brace. There were no indications of undesirable side-effects. 19 out of 34 patients who regularly took pain medication were able to reduce consumption during the treatment of 2 to 18 weeks. From a physician’s point of view, the LumboLoc Forte’s effectiveness was rated as “good”. Pain reduction, mobility increase, and stabilization had average ratings of 2.5 to 2.7 on a scale of 1 = Very good to 5 = Not at all.
